Here is a thought...

"For I know the plans I have for you,” declares the LORD,
“plans to prosper you and not to harm you,
plans to give you hope and a future.
Then you will call on me and come and pray to me, and I will listen to you."
Jeremiah 29:11-12

As I was lying in bed this morning,
debating on getting up before my coffee was delivered to me
(yes my husband is the best!)
I had all kinds of thoughts and prayers swirling around in my head.

I was jumping all over the map as I am notorious to do.

However, one of the prayers was this:

“Lord, speak to us regarding this adoption.
Direct us according to your plan.
Put Chris and I on the same page that it can not be questioned
or denied the way in which you would direct us….
when, where, how, etc”
(You know all the easy questions. rrrighhht!)

Also,

“Lord, we lay before you a specific petition.
Pleading with you that if it is Your Will for our lives,
that would provide for this need in a way that only you can!”
(I will write about this later)

So as I laid there, I said as I always do...
“Lord my heart is to love the orphan.
You have shown me your glory in adoption.
I want to make that change for one life, or ten,
that would result in demonstrating your love,
grace, mercy, salvation and truth.
I want to be used for to further
Your Kingdom.
Draw our hearts towards Yours and speak
Your truth
to Chris and I so we may know
Your plan
for our life.”

So basically, that was the end of that prayer.

My coffee was delivered and my day began!

Remember my blog entree on May 13th, I mentioned to you that my heart was in Africa (I've learned to love Uganda) and my husband’s heart was in the Sudan?
Well the reason for that is because he has a dear friend who is a refuge from Sudan.
Amazing man of God. A story that should be writen as book. This man is an amazing man of God! Chris has been his friend for years.
That is why his heart is with the Sudanese and has a deep love for these people.
However we have understood that you can not adopt from there because there has been no government set up and the country has been a mess for years… etc.

So, anyways, our dear friend called today and had exciting news!
TODAY
July 8, 2011
Sudan has officially become a Nation again!
I don't know all the details but it sounds like the north and south have separated
and the south part of the country has become it's own.
(Praise God)

Also, they opened up a second new school in Torkiel Village!

This is exciting news people!

This country has been in shambles for years
and it sounds like it's starting to take shape!

So the reason I’m telling you all this is...
Chris mentioned to our friend that we wanted to adopt and he said,
“Adopt from Sudan. The need is very great.”

Now if that is even possible,
we do not know.

But what if....

What if it becomes possible...

I know that my God holds the hearts of all men, kings and leaders.
He is an All-Powerful, All-knowing, All-Loving God that can move mountains, separate waters, turn water into wine, heal deceases, make the lame man walk...

Surely my God can revive adoption from this land.

Can you imagine the millions of orphans in that country?

Will you all gather with me in prayer that this would become something!

That this country may be able to set up a program so families can come in and start caring for these children that have been left by complete war and ruins.

All the countless children.
Left.
Abandoned.

We will come for them!
This could be the beginning of something very very exciting!

I know the Lord heard my prayer this morning.
I know the Lord is working in our hearts.
He is stirring our hearts like crazy!

The good news too is..

we already LOVE the Sudanese people!

"You will seek me and find me when you seek me with all your heart.
I will be found by you,” declares the LORD,
“and will bring you back from captivity. I will gather you from all the nations
and places where I have banished you,” declares the LORD,
“and will bring you back to the place from which I carried you into exile.”
Jeremiah 29:13-14
